Versaperm has introduced a highly responsive new range of sensors for its laboratory-based permeability measurement system.  The sensors can measure the permeability under a wide range of conditions for almost all materials and gases, including water and hydrocarbon based vapours, O2, CO2 and H, He, etc.

Permeability is the critical factor in characterizing a huge range of features that are vital in the real-world.  These range from the printability of packaging to the shelf live of food and from efficacy of an engineering seal through to the failure of some electronics and even the sweatiness of socks!

Versaperm equipment can measure permeability and diffusive flow across films, solid materials and, seals – as well as through the fabric of finished equipment and enclosures.  It can even take measurements across something as thick as a wall.  For some materials results are produced in as little as 30 minutes, whereas conventional gravimetric measurements take days or even weeks.

The Versaperm permeability meter is simple to use, requiring minimal training at most, yet it increases precision and repeatability.  It is accurate in the Parts Per Million (PPM) range for many materials and gases and sometimes as high as PPB.

Versaperm’s new system can optionally be configured to measure permeability for gases including hydrocarbons, solvents, oxygen, carbon dioxide, hydrogen, helium and water vapour and much more.  The equipment is easy to use, highly automated and computerised.

Versaperm also offers a comprehensive permeability and diffusive flow lab testing service for companies who don’t wish to purchase their own equipment.
