WHAT IS “MVTR”?
Moisture Vapour Transmission Meter

MVTR stands for “Moisture Vapour Transmission Rate”, a measure of the passage of gaseous water (ie water vapour) through a barrier. It's also know as "WVTR", or "Water Vapour Transmission Rate".

The MVTR meter from Versaperm, a world leader in MVTR (Moisture Vapour Transmission Meter) technology, has introduced a quick and simple way to test the all-important water moisture or vapour permeability transmission rates of a huge range of materials, samples, enclosures and packaging types.

The Versaperm MVTR meter is easy to use and gives a series of Moisture Vapour Transmission rate digital readouts, which can be recorded or simply read off the LCD screen. It needs no re-calibration and requires, at most, minimal training to give MVTR results that are accurate to better than one part per million (with some samples a few parts per hundred million). Sensitivities are in the range 0.05 – 3200g/m2/day and Moisture Vapour Transmission rate measurements can be achieved in as little as 30 minutes for some materials.
