Versaperm Vapour Permeability measurement

£100Ms Lost By Businesses Every Year
Due to poor practices & packaging

Water vapour is extraordinarily invasive and the wastage it causes cost UK businesses hundreds of millions of pounds each year. Paper jamming, products rotting, electronics deteriorating, components rusting and pharmaceuticals failing. All caused by a simple misunderstanding of water vapour that is easy to put right.

Many of the enclosures, seals and packages designed to keep water out (or in) are virtually useless when it comes to water vapour – which can pass through them virtually unhindered to cause havoc within. Water vapour is omnipresent and insidious. It causes biodegradation, chemical reactions, physical change and short circuits.

Versaperm Limited, a world leader in water vapour permeability measurement, has introduced a quick and simple way to test this all-important water vapour permeability and transmission rates for most types of enclosure, seals, packaging, films, coating or container.

The Versaperm WVTR (Water Vapour Transmission) meter can cope with several samples at a time - often give a reading in as little as 30 minutes – whereas the conventional gravimetric measurement technique takes several days and is significantly less accurate.

The meter is easy to use and gives a series of digital readouts that can be recorded or simply read off the LCD screen. It needs no re-calibration and requires, at most, minimal training to give results that are accurate to better than one part per million (with some samples a few parts per hundred million). Sensitivities are in the range 0.05 – 3200g/m2/day.

The Versaperm system can not only supply the equipment but also offers a testing service for a huge range of products and packages – from blister packs to sterile packaging and from pizzas to missiles.
