Paper is one of the most commonly used materials in the world, often with a polymeric coating for packaging.  However, testing its permeability – far and away the most important property in determining its handling, sealing, quality and printing ability can take days or even works with conventional techniques.

Versaperm, world technology leaders in permeability testing, has introduced a much upgraded, faster, version of its VTR (Vapour Transition Rate) meter which can be configured to measure permeability for water or vapour most of the widely used industrial gases as well. (e.g. Oxygen, Nitrogen, CO2, Hydrocarbons etc)

The permeability meter can accurately and consistently measure the permeability of papers and coatings, sometimes in as little as 30 minutes.  Conventionally gravimetric measurements several days to weeks and give significantly less reliable and repeatable results.

The Versaperm WVTR (Water Vapour Transmission)  MK VI meters’ highly automated computerised control can cope with several samples at a time giving results that are accurate in the parts per million  range (with some samples and gases a few parts per hundred million).

A sample testing service is also available from the company - usually with a 24 hour turn around.
