Versaperm manufactures gas permeability testing equipment, offers a comprehensive permeability testing service and a materials consultancy. These are used to measure gas permeability and leakage, important in medical and pharmaceutical packaging, foils and films, coatings, food and confectionery packaging and contents, and many other applications.

Versaperm designs and manufactures instruments to meet each customer’s needs. Instruments are typically be based on a modular MkVI design.

Our laboratory testing service has over 30 years experience to enable us to choose the best technique to measure your sample's permeability both quickly and accurately.

Our diverse and growing range of sensors are based on fundamentally different and divergent physical principals. The choice of the right sensor for an application is critical in the successful deployment of the equipment. We are not tied to a sensor manufacturer.

At Versaperm we can measure the permeability for almost any gas / vapour including water vapour, Oxygen, CO2 Hydrogen, Helium, Nitrogen and Hydrocarbons.

Permeability is often the most critical factor in a material or component's performance. It determines how drugs to loose potency, food goes off, how paper both prints and jams in equipment, how seals work and it can even cause electronics to fail.

Our Consultancy division combines our theoretical and practical Permeability skills in instrument design and manufacture. Permeability Consultancy

PRESS RELEASE

MEASURE FOR MEASURE
A Versatile Fast & New Gas Permeability Meter

Gas flow experts Versaperm have designed and launched a new instrument that can be configured to measure the permeability of most substances to most gases – including O2, CO2, Nitrogen, Argon and water vapour.

Ideal for both R&D and production environments, the new modular meter is fast, easy to use, reliable and can produce accurate measurements in as little as 30 minutes for some materials. Conventional techniques can take days, or even weeks to measure the same thing.

The meter offers highly automated computerised control and is capable of coping with several samples at a time, giving results that can be accurate to better than one part per million (with some samples a few parts per hundred million). Sensitivities vary depending on the detector system deployed.

A wide variety of options is available, depending on the specific applications, but a range of detectors, single or multi-sample systems and a range of measurement chambers can be supplied for testing samples from the size of a thimble up to a pallet load or even beyond!

As well as manufacturing the instruments, Versaperm operates a laboratory service for companies where the volume or logistics of measurements does not demand a dedicated instrument.
