Permeability Testing for Industrial Solvents- When Seals Must Not Fail ..or O-rings, Mastics & Enclosures

Solvents are used throughout industry in extraordinarily diverse applications. Unfortunately they are very good at finding their way into areas they shouldn't be!  Many materials that are largely impervious to solvents such as liquids are highly permeable to them in their vaporous state.  And that's where Versaperm comes in.

Versaperm's equipment can measure the permeability of most materials, seals, mastics and containers for almost any solvent - either using flat samples of the material, or the containers themselves.  Many common solvents are hydrocarbon based and Versaperm has even introduced a range of specialist sensors for these.

Solvent permeability has applications that range from aerospace through to the membrane technology used in vegetable oil processing and Versaperm's equipment can provide fast and accurate measurements for all of them - usually in the parts per million range, (parts per billion with some solvent vapours).  Results can be achieved in as little as 30 minutes for some materials and solvents.

As well as manufacturing the instruments, Versaperm offers a technical consultancy plus a permeability testing service for companies that need to test samples on an irregular basis.
