Versaperm Vapour Permeability measurement

Films & Foils

Film permeability measurementsOne of the many advantages of the WVTR Meter is that very low WVTR rates can quickly be measured. The Versaperm instrument can measure below 1 ppm of water vapour in 100ml/min of the swept gas, and this translates to very low WVTR readings, around 0.002g/m²/day. There are also techniques for enhancing this sensitivity even further.

At the other end of the scale, the instrument can measure up to 3000 ppm water vapour. Thus using the normal 50 cm² surface area, a maximum of 64 g/m2/day can be read, although this can be increased 3200 by utilising a 10 cm² chamber and other devices to reduce the surface area.
